How It Works

Call us to discuss whether facility or on-farm collection is the best fit for your bull.

Weekly Collection

We collect once a week at our facility. On-site housing is offered depending on availability. Call ahead — some times of year carry a several-week waiting list.

Processing & Freezing

Conventional collections go to Hawkeye Breeders for quality control and freezing. Sex-sorted collections go to ST Genetics for sorting and freezing.

Storage & Shipping

Within two weeks of collection, your frozen semen is ready to ship anywhere in the country. Long-term storage and custom shipping are available at our Smithsburg, MD facility or at Hawkeye Breeders in Adel, IA.

All semen is collected as non-CSS, which means it is not eligible for export.

Fresh Semen for IVF

Shipped Nationwide

We can collect fresh semen and ship it anywhere in the country for use in IVF (in-vitro fertilization) programs. Call ahead so we can coordinate timing with your procedure.

Semen Quality Evaluations

Breeder Bulls

We perform semen quality evaluations on breeder bulls, so you know exactly where your herd sires stand before the breeding season.

Our Standards

Quality Control

Every collection is processed and evaluated on state-of-the-art equipment. Our standards are deliberately strict — quality cutoffs are set to screen out any sample that could produce subpar conception results, so everything that leaves our facility is built to settle cows.
