Horizon P-Red hails from the Helen family at Ja-Bob Holsteins. The matriarch, Sky-Hi Mars Helen EX-92 GMD, started this prolific family that has yielded over 350 EX female maternal descendants in ten different countries worldwide along with over 1,000 VG female maternal descendants. Horizon hails from the same line that produced Ja-Bob Jordan-Red, with his 5th dam being Jordan’s full sister.
If there is a characteristic of Horizon that is easily noticed in his closest dams, it is that they are wide and strong, with high components. His Grand-Dam, Ja-Bob Pembroke Holli-P-Red has three EX sisters and seven VG sisters. His dam was a fantastic young cow that we lost too early in her life due to a strange injury.
We are pleased that the genetics of this branch of the Helen family will continue through Horizon and have a positive effect on both Holstein and Lineback breeder herds alike.
